Singer/Songwriter Gabrielle Lynn is at the top of her game following her Irresistible EP. Having recently released her new “It Don’t Stop” visual, the songbird is ready to share her musical gifts with music junkies worldwide. I had the esteemed pleasure of interviewing Lynn for a candid interview below as she graciously discusses her new video, working with Riotheyneedahit, and having a successful EP out.
Who is Gabrielle Lynn?
I am a loving mother, a woman who believes in spiritual balance, treating people fairly and equally. I believe in LOVE, happiness, and God. I believe that music is so powerful and with great power comes great responsibility, so I am very mindful when I am recording and creating songs. I also very strongly feel that what you put into the universe is returned times two, so I always do my best to live everyday as though that is true.
What makes the release of Irresistible different than your other EP releases?
Irresistible was the most fun EP to record. Of course, I had fun recording my other EPs, but this one just has a different feeling, one where I knew it was going to be a very special body of work. I was able to express my emotions about love on my “This is Love” and “It Don’t Stop” records. I was also able to speak about the painful side of love with “Let Go.” One of my favorite songs on the EP is “Close to Me,” it is my first real uptempo song and I love it.
How would you describe your original sound?
I exercise my vocals everyday so I am constantly improving, but I really just pour my heart out in the studio so there is so much love being put into every song with the goal of captivating my listeners.
Who are some of your musical influences?
I love Sade and Whitney Houston, I can listen to their music on repeat. I also listen to many other genres of music.
What has your experience been like working with hitmaker Riotheyneedahit?
Rio really pushes me in the studio. We work very well together. He is a true student of music and he teaches me the business side of music which is important. I am truly blessed to be able to work with such a talented person.
How did your upbringing impact your decision to pursue a career in music?
My upbringing didn’t really influence my music, I decided to pursue music on my own. I was singing songs all throughout my childhood and journaled a lot. With time, I combined the two and started creating.
I believe in the process and while that is a goal of mine, that is not the only reason I make music.
Where do you see yourself musically in the next five years?
Of course I think every artist sees themselves on the grand stage with everyone singing their songs, but I believe in the process and while that is a goal of mine, that is not the only reason I make music. I want to help the world in so many ways and will work towards my goals daily.
Why is your “It Don’t Stop” single and video so special?
With “It Don’t Stop,” I wanted to show my growth as a recording artist. I wanted to show that I am bold, confident, strong and that I can be sexy, and classy all at the same time. The vision I had for this video was able to be brought to life with the help of the very talented choreographer Neo Lynch who has worked with Beyoncé, Ciara and Diddy. The video was beautifully shot by Reginald Smith and I must say we were able to accomplish everything and beyond. If you listen to the song and watch the video, I feel they blend perfectly.
