R&B Chick Essentials

Any true fan of R&B will have at least one of these songs on their playlists.

As ‘Rain On Me’ by Ashanti plays in the background, we feel alive and free with each poetic lyric sang out their mouths; those words and those artists make us feel rejuvenated. Whether it be the classic ‘Read Your mind’ Avant or the present ‘About Time’ Sabrina Claudio, R&B has always created this warm feeling that uplifts and teaches us. Being able to let loose and get in our element fulfills us — dopest shit ever. As the genre expands in regard to variety, we are able to explore the answers to our locked in emotions by the various styles of artists in R&B.

I gave you the R&B Chick Essentials to add your playlists

1. ‘Zion’ – Lauryn Hill

There’s no one quite like the legend herself, the queen that left us with the timeless ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’.

Her soothing voice does all the justice on its own.

Have you ever meet a man that is different from the rest? India Arie takes the words out of mouths with her beautiful words for the special man in her life.

4. ‘U Know What’s Up’ – Donell Jones

The consistent groove of this record, always put me in good mood — no matter the occasion.
